In recent years I’ve gotten involved in community theater. I’ve enjoyed making people laugh so much that I have seriously thought that I should have been a comedian. When watching a recent interview following Fellini’s first movie “The White Sheik,” I was struck by what the leading man (now old) related. He said that he had not been an actor and had not wanted to be in the movie. To persuade him, Fellini had protested, “But, you are from the race of clowns!” Here, the evidence of that ancient race is unearthed.
