50x72 Oil ©2002 The Great Beyond I painted this after the death of Emily Stevens, from whom I rented my studio by the pond. On board are Napoleon, a grown-up version of one of the rain-slickered school children from a childhood book and, someone who isn’t at all familiar. When they move beyond the iceberg, they will no doubt have found the Great Beyond.
